Daily Flight Information:
The World Flight is in Tokyo, Japan making necessary repairs and conducting preventative maintenance on their aircraft before continuing to Kushimoto, Japan, the next scheduled stop.
"Boston" & "New Orleans" Almost Ready
Work continued today on the Douglas World Cruisers "Boston" and "New Orleans". The "Boston" required an engine change and the work should be completed by tomorrow night.
Both aircraft will have new pontoons installed as well as larger capacity radiators which are necessary for the hot weather climates of southeast Asia.
The Round-the-World flight is scheduled to leave for southern Japan sometime early next week. Division II of the flight will be complete and Division III which will take the fliers from Shanghai, China to Calcutta, India -- a route covering approximately 5,000 miles.

Another full & hard day's work -- and by tomorrow night everything should be finished & the other two planes either in the water or ready to be put in. Everyone is certainly working hard and by night are pretty tired and perfectly willing to go to bed at the first opportunity.
"Live & learn" they say -- and today I learned better than to trust our photo negatives to anyone to develop. Sixty negatives taken throughout the Aleutians I turned over to be developed & while I can save a few of them, most of them were ruined, and of course can never be replaced.
Since the earthquake, the water is not considered very good for drinking, so to keep from contracting diphtheria, etc., we drink beer almost entirely and :God how we hate it."
