At 9:00 the weather enroute was bad, but by 10:30 had cleared & at 10:50 we set forth for Dayton. Between Cumberland & Uniontown we encountered low clouds on mountain tops, so deviated from course to the north and came through in one of the valleys. From Uniontown on, the weather weather was OK. Cumberland, Uniontown, Wheeling, Zanesville, and Columbus were all flown over enroute.

This morning satisfactory weather reports were not received until about 10:30. At 10:50, the flight was in the air, accompanied by several escort planes. Between Cumberland and Uniontown, very low clouds were encountered, but from Uniontown on, the weather was excellent. The route followed was that of the airways. Nothing special occurred, except that none of the escort planes had followed the flight through the mountains. At Columbus, a large number of planes met and escorted the flight over Fairfield to McCook Field, where the planes landed at 5:33. Another large reception committee was present and Major John F. Curry, Commanding Officer of McCook Field, had made excellent arrangements to rush the work desired on the planes.
